SS

North & South of the Vindhya hills
Lies a great divide, folks with different skills
But Sushma here is an unusual one
She's Southie smarts + Northie fun

She'll shoot straight from the hip
And watch you as you burst & rip
So you better know your stuff
Coz she is smart and she is tough

But if you want her in your palm
Use her very favorite balm
Take her out for shopping
Buy her ice-cream as the topping

Now she has an eccentricity or two
Like the only man she'd like to have her woo
Is the Hon'ble Prime Minister, no less
An electrifying (& frightening) combo, must confess

But while the PM prefers saffron, 'tis said
She believes in shades of pink and red
Tresses of burgundy, like a halo of sass
A red bull per day, she's one energetic lass

And if you really wanna tone her down
I'll tell you how, don't you frown
Just go upto her, sweetly whisper 'Others'
Then watch how she shrieks, shivers & shudders

Now as we end our long discourse
Must mention her movie choices, they can be rather coarse
Bhojpuri being the lingua franca
But as far as DumbC goes, she's a WWII tanker

So here we are, at the end of this piece
And I hope this is quite enough grease
To get results that are green & green
From the consumer & market insights Queen

Papa

What to say about a man
Who lives his life so well
Always doing the right thing
Believing in show, not just tell

***********************

60 years, such rich ones, spent
In thought-through considered deeds
Even in the face of trouble
Staying content was always the creed

Never could anyone guess (except Mom)
By the look upon your face
..the weight or worry bearing down
No sign of distress, not even a trace

No one learns by being taught
It's the environment you have around
We are today who we are
Largely coz you dug us that ground

For example, even the eccentricities:
Loud sneezes & anywhere-bhojpuri speech
They made us more comfortable with ourselves
While the intention was not to teach

Love for family, near & dear ones
Is what we imbibed from you
It's something that will carry on
Down the generations through

"Simple living and high thinking"
Again a legacy we earned
Having our priorities right
Chasing ideas not things, we learnt

While we do not speak that often
Not even close to what we should
I know that in my life, my father's been
a major reason for all that's good
